Sea Love - A Poem for All Portuguese Sailors.

SEA LOVE

A ship was not built to stay in dock.
Rather it yearns to challenge the oceans’s swell.
And so it is with our love course.

When we stand at the bow, horizons are hidden.
Then with a whip and a gust, waves loom.
And we buffet huddle with our darling.

The sea tells us stories of quests and heroes.
Each of us dares to succeed ourselves.
And our special love puts us on giants shoulders.

A squall brings unrest of mind and spirit.
We rock and sway to stay steady.
And the sure hand of our dearest claims the tiller.

Tranquil lagoons appear at latitude.
Sun, stars and foam in harmony now.
And we are desirous with our elemental intimate.

When we set sail, our inner compass guides.
No written map can tell our passage.
And the beloved is the soul witness.

A safe harbour comes like a salve.
When we have been shipwrecked on rocks.
And heart treasure mends our wounds.

Traverse together Neptune’s kingdom.
As mermaid and merman, voyage in perennial mystery.
And your committed love will be succour to your destiny,
