Sacred Doors
June 12, 2026
Doors are perfect metaphors for how we move from one state to another, on our spiritual path. Entering and leaving phases of our lives. In buildings where the rules of sacred geometry have been applied, the door is a key part of the construction. They are the portals and threshold points of our inner transformation.
As we pilgrim through what can seem like a barren landscape of life on Earth, our historic churches and monasteries offer an opportunity to observe doors, feel doors, experience doors. Artistically, doors have always caught my eye. They are visually compelling.
God knocks on the door of our hearts constantly. Asking that we stop and pause, and consider the next door he wants us to open and walk through. Also those doors which need to close behind us. For at the end of our days, he is inviting us to walk through the door back home to his kingdom from which we came. Get practicing with doors folks, they are more exciting than perhaps their simplicity suggests. Doors are the path into the mystery of our sacred contract in this lifetime. Knock and you will find your way home.
