Intuition - Knowing but not from knowledge.

The image shows a triquetra, an ancient symbol of Celtic origin. It represents the interconnection of the physical, mental, and spiritual levels.

Intuition comes from the gut. Our first brain. Some people call it women’s wisdom. It’s a knowing which doesn’t fit the rational model. A sensing which goes beyond the five senses. Highly sensitive people tend to have intuition as part of their skills set. A sort of radar system.

The Celtic people from Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Brittany and Portugal, denoted intuition - which they called inner knowing and spiritual insight - with the triple spiral - the Triskele.

During my pilgrimage through northern Portugal, I often see the symbols of the ancient Celts. I feel at home with their deep rooted meanings. They speak to me. Several years back I went to the west coast of Ireland to work with Dr Sharon Blackie, an expert in Celtic mythology. At a time when my soul was chomping at the bit to re-wild itself and be untethered, she provided much needed food to help me process my women wisdom which was re-remembering its feminine lineage. Her book - If Women Rose Rooted- is a must for those other women seeking a deeper grasp of their intuitive well. Getting back to source provides nourishment not only for our intuition but also our embodied empowerment.
