Approach 2026 as an invocation.

In the last 5 years the world has changed rapidly. Our personal lives too have been transformed. We’ve let go of old identities as well as people and places. We’re shed skins. We are no longer who we were.
As we move into 2026 and the year of the fire horse in Chinese astrology and into a numerological one year, I’m not making a list of resolutions, rather invoking the most authentic version of myself to show up each day without judgement. Following what the heart calls and the drumbeat of my soul.
In my daily contemplation practice I’ve introduced a bell as well as a candle. The tinkling sound is gentle and a harmonious invitation to the spirit of the unknown, but with an inner knowing that all will be well.
When I left the Pyrenees and walked into Spain on my Camino, I took part in a pilgrim ceremony of blessing at the chapel in Roncevaux. The pilgrims prayer was read and we all set out our personal intention to arrive in Santiago. It was a divine invocation. May we all embrace the spirit of this unknown year with faith, and the hopefulness that the best version of ourselves accompanies us on our journey. Our inner power will ensure we arrive at our dharma destination, and that we feel guided, and strengthen along the way when we encounter darkness and dejection. Our inner flame is the force of our spirit acting as a lighthouse for fellow travellers.
